Important! Like DART Range, DART Experience must be calibrated prior to use. Refer to the Calibration Instructions if you are not familiar with the calibration process.

To run DART Experience, simply click on the purple [E] icon on the bottom taskbar.

After a few seconds, you will see the Experience welcome screen appear with buttons for Shooter 1 and Shooter 2. This screen will remain until the Shooter 1 Ready and/or Shooter 2 Ready buttons are shot with a laser training weapon, or the ESCape key on the keyboard is pressed.

Note: in typical situations, the system's keyboard and mouse are stored in an area in which the public does not have access. This prevents the ESCape key from being pressed by anyone other than a system administrator.

If the ESCape key is pressed, the program closes the welcome screen and opens the DART Experience menu system. The menu options for Practice, Courses, Trace, and Setup are identical to those found in DART Range. DART Experience also includes an additional Experience menu.

In general, you should only need to use the backend for calibration and other settings found in the Setup menu. Once calibration is complete you can use the options found in the Experience menu to begin running courses.

Shooter 1 and Shooter 2 Buttons

The large buttons at the bottom of the screen labeled Shooter 1 Ready and Shooter 2 Ready are designed to be "shot" with a laser training weapon to activate. To run a Single shooter course, simply shoot EITHER the Shooter 1 Ready button OR the Shooter 2 Ready button.  The program will pause for 5 seconds, then run the Single shooter course.

If BOTH the Shooter 1 Ready button AND the Shooter 2 Ready button are shot within 5 seconds of each other, the Dual shooter course will run.

For Advanced Users! The 5 second wait period can be adjusted by changing the <WelcomeTimeout> setting in the FRSettings.xml file found in the \DART Data\Settings folder. You should only change this file if you are an experienced computer user since incorrect settings may cause the program to function unpredictably.

After Action Review

At the completion of a course, an after action review screen will be displayed for 15 seconds. The after action review screen will show the placement of shots, the final score, and a grade based on the final score. After 15 seconds, the after action review screen will close and the program will return to the welcome screen.

For Advanced Users! The 15 second wait period for the after action review screen can be adjusted by changing the <AarTimeout>setting in the FRSettings.xml file found in the \DART Data\Settings folder. You can also change final scoring grades using the <Rank> settings in the same file. You should only change this file if you are an experienced computer user since incorrect settings may cause the program to function unpredictably.
